Oct 10, 2006 The first game in the Clash of Ninja series was the foundation for the series. You had a handful of characters, ten characters if you add the two alternates and a short story mode that went. Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 offers several different game modes such as Arcade mode, VS mode, and Story mode. You can unlock new features such as new characters, stages, and modes by accomplishing certain tasks in the game. Once accomplished, an item will appear in Anko 's shop and the player may buy with money earned from fighting.
Background
Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2 is the sequel of the first game. The game will include new characters not found in the first game and all of the characters will have their own sets of special attacks and Ninjutsu.

- Story Follows The Hit Cartoon Network Show: The game faithfully follows the story of the hit TV show, and builds off of the story of NARUTO: Clash of Ninja. Cell Shaded graphics are utilized in 30 different stages that parallel the style set forth in the cartoon.
- Over Twice The Characters: Choose from your favorite NARUTO characters including Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura plus many more. There are 23 total playable characters including hidden and unlockable characters.
- Added Attacks And Improved Fighting Skills: Characters will feature additional special attacks and extra character-specific moves add to the feeling of authenticity that goes beyond the first NARUTO GameCube game.

Naruto: Clash of Ninja 2 (Naruto: Gekitō Ninja Taisen! 2 in Japan and Naruto: Clash of Ninja European Version in Europe) is the second installment of the series. It was released in Japan on December 4, 2003. It was announced alongside its prequel, Clash of Ninja, for a 2006 release in North America, which was then released on September 26, 2006. The game follows the plot of the series, in story mode, starting from Naruto's graduation from the Ninja Academy to the end of the Chunin exams. The game retains the characters from the first installment, and added characters from the Chunin Exam arc. This installment allows four players to fight in multiplayer at the same time. Unlockable features in this game are acquired by accomplishing certain tasks to add them to the game's shop, and then using money won in fights to buy access to the features.

There are also several fights which may be purchased from Anko that go into detail about things not fully explained in the series. In addition to the new four-player versus mode, a cooperative team-battle mode was also introduced to the series, allowing up to three players per team.

The GameCubeClash of Ninja series was ended after Clash of Ninja 2 in North America, primarily because of the Nintendo Wii console launching close to Clash of Ninja 2's release date. As such, this is the last game in the North American Clash of Ninja series to be a translated version of a Japanese game; with the Revolution series that has continued for the three years since, new games have been created for the Wii, featuring characters and stages that were not in the subsequent non-localized GameCube counterparts.
Clash of Ninja 2 was released as Players' Choice on 2007 in North America. The original edition of the game featured a limited edition Naruto holofoil trading card.
