My trailer doesnt have a white wire for ground. Would it be the black wire or the red wire? Ive got all the other wires in their proper place.

Between those two color choices the black one would most likely be the ground wire. However, if you hook it up with the black as the ground and it does not work I would recommend trying the red wire.
Also, you should trace both of these wires back on the trailer to see where they terminate. The ground wire should be connected to the frame of your trailer. Whichever one connects to the frame is the ground.
The ground wire should be wired to the 12 o clock position terminal on the Pollak 6-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector, part # PK11604.
